De composteerbare afvalzakjes zijn geproduceerd in Europa en gemaakt van Mater-Bi. Dit materiaal is een composteerbaar bioplastic, op basis van maïs. Deze maïs is GMO-vrij en bevat geen schadelijke stoffen. De afvalzakjes kunnen na gebruik gecomposteerd worden volgens de Europese norm EN-13432.
